Dan is a real hurricane, initially painting colourful works mainly comics with common subjects such as Lupin and others easily accessible, two-dimensional and simple subjects that immediately attracted attention. The strokes were clean, sharp, without smudges. Gradually, the two-dimensional and monochromatic of the early paintings gave way to the chromatic tone, a single voice, the warm and passionate red, or the cold and clear blue that stand out like solo voices in a chorus of grey shades. His works are acrylics on poplar wood, most often of large dimensions.
Dan is in a word Pop in his works manifest concrete references to Andy Warhol in the choice of subjects and themes repeated from film icons to brands and advertising slogans that appear here and there on the backgrounds, casually marginal, but in reality concrete keys to the themes narrated.
Pop is a way of life, a way of being that invests art with a great task, that of stopping the banal everyday life in moments that last forever, in faces, in gestures, in winking glances that observe us and in mouths that would like to speak, but cannot, but in recent works one can catch drips and splashes of colour that evoke concrete and definitively iconic gestures à la Jackson Pollok.
Here, Dan's works are so cheeky, unique and irreverent that they fit into any environment.
